Been a bit busy lately…so with fall in the air it’s time to introduce you to a cookbook I first fell in love with watching America’s Test Kitchen series on PBS years ago. Flip through the pages of my Cookbook of the Month – October 2016, the Complete America’s Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook. Here you will find every recipe from the TV series. The book I have featured contains all recipes from 2001 – 2011. However, the present cookbook contains all recipes through the 2016 season. I think I need the new copy.
I absolutely love this cookbook for several reasons. If you’ve ever watched the television show it is like no other cooking show. Christopher Kimball (former host) and his test cooks showing you the best versions of a recipe and give you the reasons why. When we cook we want the best recipe served to our family and friends. That’s what this cookbook is all about. This cookbook gives you the basics along with new ways to prepare all your favorites like beef stew, lasagna, tacos, roast chicken to creamy eggs. Who new, right? The show in cookbook form is a winner every cook should own.
Cookbook of the Month – October 2016
America’s Test Kitchen Cookbook also contains advise on kitchen equipment, taste testing supermarket ingredients and helpful notes from the test kitchen. You can’t go wrong with family favorites like Apple Brown Betty (page 546) which is perfect since it’s apple season and so like the recipe my Mom used to make. Got a taste for Chinese and unsure about how to make fried rice, try Fried Rice with Peas and Bean Sprouts (page 308). I have adapted this recipe in so many ways, it’s crazy. Perfect with chicken or shrimp.
So whether you’re a newbie in the kitchen, have a kid wanting to learn to cook, or a seasoned kitchen guru, grab a copy of my Cookbook of the Month – October 2016, the Complete America’s Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook. Your family and friends will thank you. I’m sure you will love this cookbook as much as I do.
Until next time…Happy Cooking!
